Two-part documentary about Janet Jackson in the making
In 2022, it will be 40 years since Janet Jackson’s debut album was released, and the American channel ‘Lifetime’ is taking that opportunity to broadcast a two-part documentary about her life.
The documentary, working title Janet, is intended to provide an intimate glimpse into Janet’s life, including the most difficult moments in her personal and professional life, such as the death of her father, ‘nipplegate’ during the Super Bowl in 2004 and the death of her brother Michael. Happier events such as the birth of her son also pass by.
ccording to the makers, the four-hour documentary has already been worked on for three years, which means that the loss of father Joe in 2018 is extensively recurring. They use archival footage, old interviews and home videos of the Jackson family that have never been shown in public.
