Anne Hathaway: “I was ninth choice for lead role ‘The Devil Wears Prada’”
Anne Hathaway (38) said she was not very high on the film studio’s list to play the lead role in ‘ The Devil Wears Prada’ from 2006. That she eventually became it, according to the 38-year-old actress only shows indicates that you should “never give up” in life.
In an episode of the drag show ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’ Anne Hathaway was digitally guest this week. A candidate asked the actress if she often had to fight for a role. “How long have you got?” Anne joked, after which she told about the difficult audition for the fashion film in which Meryl Streep also played. “Let me tell you something: I was the ninth choice for ‘Devil Wears Prada’. But I did get it! Hold on, don’t give up. ”
In the film, Anne plays the role of aspiring journalist Andy Sachs, who becomes assistant to the ruthless editor-in-chief Miranda Priestly (Meryl Streep) of the fashion magazine Runway. Streep received a Golden Globe and an Oscar nomination for this role.
